I have something written, but don’t know how to design a KineticEssay!
That’s where we come in! A strictly text-based submission is all that is required. If your work is selected, our design team will take care of transforming it into the KineticEssay format for publication.
What topics can I write about?
We wouldn’t want to put you in a box, and the most successful submissions are ones that effectively demonstrate the writer’s passion towards their idea. However, themes that consistently pique our interest include politics, art, community-building, philosophy, and the U.S. South.
How does the publication process work?
After receiving your submission, our creative team will begin reviewing it right away. If we are interested in pursuing publication of your work, we will reach back out (usually within 1-2 weeks) via email to begin the design process of your KineticEssay.
Can I design my own KineticEssay instead of the FGTM creative team?
Absolutely! However, we still ask that you share your submission in a plain text form to the email below, and just be sure to include an additional explanation (or rendering) of your vision for the design aspect.
